I offer two specialized services designed to meet the unique needs of students with dyslexia and language-based learning challenges.

Dyslexia Consultant

As a Dyslexia Consultant I partner with parents to discuss their concerns and the goals they have for their child’s education. Whether your child has a formal diagnosis or you're beginning to notice signs of struggle, I provide guidance to help you take meaningful steps toward accessing the appropriate support and services your child needs.

Initial Consultation & Personalized Action Plan

We begin with an in-depth conversation and a thorough review of key documents, such as:

  • IEP/504 plan (if applicable)

  • Evaluations

  • Report cards

  • Work samples

From there, I create a clear, individualized Action Plan tailored to your child’s strengths and needs. This plan may include:

  • Academic and attentional strategies

  • Targeted interventions

  • Specific IEP plan/504 recommendations (if applicable)

You’ll be provided with a plan that helps you advocate confidently for the supports and services your child needs at school. 

Follow-Up Meeting

After you reviewed the Action Plan, we’ll meet again to:

  • Discuss recommendations

  • Answer your questions

  • Ensure you feel ready to collaborate effectively with your child’s educational team.

Ongoing Support Throughout the Year

I offer continued support at key points during the school year to help you stay informed and proactive.

Beginning of the School Year

  • Review your child’s current educational program

  • Develop effective communication strategies for working with teachers and school staff

  • Identify steps you can take to request new or revised supports and services with guidance along the way 

Mid-Year Check-In

  • Review your child’s progress

  • Consider whether current interventions and supports are meeting their needs.

  • Identify potential adjustments and explore how to collaborate with the school to implement them

End of the School Year

  • Reflect on your child’s growth by reviewing recent data

  • Prepare for the annual IEP or 504 Plan meeting by outlining academic goals, accommodations, supports, and services your child needs

  • Plan next steps for pursuing evaluations or additional support, if needed

Wilson Reading Specialist

What is the Wilson Reading System®?

The Wilson Reading System® (WRS) is a research-based, multisensory structured literacy program designed specifically for students with dyslexia and other language-based learning challenges. Through explicit, systematic instruction, it supports lasting improvement in decoding, spelling, fluency, and comprehension skills.

  • Vocabulary Development

  • Reading Automaticity and Fluency

  • Listening Comprehension

How Instruction Is Delivered

Assessment
We begin with a comprehensive reading and spelling assessment to identify your child’s strengths and areas of need. This guides both lesson planning and instructional pacing.

Personalized, Diagnostic Instruction
Each lesson is individualized and engaging to keep students motivated and confident. For younger learners, I incorporate games and hands-on activities that make learning enjoyable while building essential skills. Using a diagnostic, mastery-based approach, I move at your child’s pace and ensure understanding before introducing new concepts. Lessons are structured, targeted, and include regular review to support skill mastery.

Ongoing Progress Monitoring
Each session includes built-in progress checks to monitor skill development and concept mastery. Ongoing assessment ensures instruction remains responsive and effective, helping students build confidence while making measurable progress.

Through consistent, supportive instruction, students not only improve their reading and spelling but also gain the confidence and skills they need to become successful, independent learners.
