“We met Mrs. Rubin 2 years ago when our son was in 2nd grade. He was diagnosed with dyslexia and his reading regressed over the summer break. He had difficulties reading even 3 letter words, and had difficulties distinguishing multiple letters. He was getting very discouraged about reading and started to resist even the simplest attempts to help him. Working with Mrs Rubin has been a transformative experience for us. Her patient and personalized approach to teaching reading and now writing has helped him gain confidence and improve his skills significantly. Her lessons are well-structured, and she is able keep him engaged throughout the lesson (he also has ADHD). The progress we've seen in our son’s reading and writing is truly remarkable, and while at one time we were worried that he would never be able to read fluently, he is now approaching grade level. He is even picking up books to read on his own which was hard to even imagine a year ago. Mrs. Rubin has also been an invaluable resource to us and has been guiding us in adjusting his IEP.
